You should search before asking such questions, anyways drive it semi-easy for 600 miles (preferably dont go over 5k)and after that let her rip...

This post almost makes no sense at all. What do you mean until the car kicks in?

Before the car kick in? English first, then we'll get to answering.

If you're referring to the 'break in' period, from what I've read on the boards, it's usually 500-600 miles BELOW 5,000 RPMs.

Congrats on the new car.

Kick in? You mean break in? Read your owners manual, it'll help alot and there are a ton of threads on here about this, just search and you'll find what your looking for + a lot more...

wow this is goin to get major flamage.

but i'll be nice. note that people have VERY different theories and ways to break in the engine, but this is how i did it:

for the 1st 600 miles don't go WOT, do not bring the rpm above 5000 rpm. however, u need to tap the throttle deep enough to let the turbo spool a bit, because necessary amount of heat generated by the turbo in the engine is necessary for the piston rings to seal correctly. also don't maintain the same speed for too long (e.g. on the highway do not drive at 70 mph continuously, but fluctuate in the 55-75 rpm range; try doin so without pissing ppl off lol)

then after 600 miles of doing everything aforementioned, i started goin WOT (quite rarely), and no red line yet. i'm waiting for the 3000 mile mark to come, then change oil, then start redlining and driving it like i stole it.

that's how i did it. the way i drove my first 600 miles is the common way i believe; the more, "conservative", or "safer" way to break in. however i did not see the need to change oil as soon as 600 miles passed (from SEARCHING this forum), and i'll change oil every 3000 miles.

hope i helped u a bit but please, do some SEARCH or else u'll get flamed every. single. time.

*dons flame suit for breakin my own car in differently from some other folks
