i think im confused, as a matter of fact i know it but im going to take a stab at this. the maf has already accounted for the air that is going through there, when the throttle closes and the bov opens it reroutes air back around after the maf so that it doesn't run rich and stumble. so its basically just sending the air around in circles...help

This vehicle is a mass air flow sensing car. When you vent the air already accounted for by the mass air flow sensor via an external BOV you cause a rich condition in the engine decreasing performance. An externally venting BOV is only benefitial on cars running extreme boost on fully built engines tunned for it. Other wise a externally venting BOV is a rice mod.

Look again dood! The blow off is releasing the air back into the compressor side of the turbo, hence it's connected into the turbo intake. There are alot of hose pipes in there so you'll need to dig trough. Matter of fact, take out the air box if you wanna see how everything is routed.

Yeah, what he said. It's connected properly. It just doesn't look like it at first. The MAF is in an "odd" place and the turbo is turned around from what we're all used to on the DSMs. Not that I think your confusion stems from prior bias with the DSMs, but I know mine does.

Take the airbox off and you can get a better look.
