sorry to hear about your headache.

its unfortunate what they told you, as the welds in your Pics are definately NOT robotic. They are simply hand fabricated tig welds on poorly fit runners (gaps)

 

I think this is just a case of you get what you pay for. Call Shearer up and buy one of his if you dont want to worry about it. I have had mine for quite some time now, I do not have the louver covering the whole in the hood , I have driven in the snow, rain, sleet, sun, etc... Not one problem to date. Shearer is also one of the best guys I have met when it comes to this stuff. I dont want to toot his horn for him but I am more than positive if I ever do run into a problem with any of his parts he will gladly make things right for me:

i owned a dc header for my 02 acura rsx, and a something cracked on that as well. after that i wouldnt buy any of their products anymore.

 

Hey guys just a quick heads up I got a dc sports header about 3-4 months ago after do many a search on it and hearing there were guys running them for thousands of miles and no cracking issues.

Well i left my car in to get a 10.5 fitted amounst other things and my guy rang me today to tell me the exhaust mani was craked in at the back he said you wouldnt have seen it from the front.
I was also hearing that ticking sound and after wrxtoevo posted about his cracking i had sort of an idea maybe mine was also cracked.
My guy got the crack welded so i will run it on the car for the moment till i pick up a buscher one.

Of course I am pissed off but it is to be expected with most mani's. And for the price the dc sports one was its not all that bad.

By the way the dc one i have is the new version as well with the taper flanges.

 

Should Have got a sherarer or Full-race. Dosent it have a warranty I would just send it back and demand for your money back.

 

Yes it does have a 1 year warranty. Im still baffled this is happening, oh well, Im keeping mine right where it is.

 

I have a two week old Full race i just took off my totaled Evo, I'll make you a deal on it.
