Debating Between GSR-SSL and MR

Considering I dont mind the 5 speed, I like the GSR wheels and I want a blue Evo, Im having a hard time convincing myself otherwise of buying an MR.

I would love to have a Grey or White MR, but I can't seem to find any REAL valid reason to spend the extra 5000 bucks on wheels, suspension and a 6 speed.

I mean, the MR is the MR.....bad a$$ as they come...but the GSR with leather, nice sound system and the new beatiful blue they offer, I can't help but prefer that.

Im curious, what does everyone think?

No, I am not going to search to find out what people think.

Seems like you've gotten your mind all made up! There's a difference in the ride, the MR is softer and easier to live with on long trips, but I've never been in a GSR. Just repeating what others have said.

i dunno i had the same dilemma when i bought my 05, only i was considering the RS. I loved the electric blue and the onlyh RS they had was red, so my decision was easy!! but i will say this...i have had more compliments on the color of the car than i have had on any of the mods...when it is clean and waxed...electric blue stands WAY out....

I just love leather interior so I got the SSL. Any car that cost above 30k should come with leather standard in my opinion.

I have an Electric Blue with SSL, so I'm biased. I absolutely love it. I've never ridden in or driven an MR so I can't say if the difference is pronounced enough to warrant the extra $. All I know is that the GSR is sufficiently comfortable on long trips (I've taken many), the stereo rocks, the leather recaros are outstanding, and I love the moonroof. As others have said, though, you need to try both. If you want exclusivity and bragging rights, go with the MR. If you want interior refinement and to save some money, get the GSR-SSL.

I bought the MR becuase there was not a big price difference for what you get.
Otherwise I would have gotten a GSR. If they had an RS in GG or Silver I would have opted for that.

stock vs stock I felt that the 6spd was a much better shifting transmission than the 5spd- shifting action much more positive. I'm sure the 5 spd would be helped with an aftermarket shifter though. You will need to drive a 5 spd and 6 spd for yourself to see the difference. Plus, I also like the BBS wheels much more than the Enkeis, and felt the MR's ride was "less choppy", so I went for the MR.

All valid points....except the go sit in one and think....(what do you think I've been doing?)

That really doesnt tell me anything...its like not sitting in a 350z and a Vette and deciding.

Just the same, I am going with the GSR-SSL.

The 6 speed doesnt mean that much to me, I dont like the BBS' (flame on, but they're ugly IMHO) and considering I want to upgrade the suspension anyways....I would much, much rather have the sound, leather and sun roof, as I dont feel the car loses a crazy amount of performance with the added weight and what not.

Now what color.....

Where are the moderators in these forums? The same topics come up three times a week, all these threads should be locked or deleted.

nothing beats leather recaros. Another reason i got the ssl package was for the sunroof. I bought the car for speed and a little bit of luxry.

I bought the MR for:

resale
exclusivity
suspension easier to live with, add Swift MR springs and a Perrin rear sway and its perfect
smoother, more refined transmission

I do not care for all leather seats as they age poorly and your butt shifts too much on the seat.
I do not care for sunroofs
Stereo is identical except for powered sub and I dont find the need for the bass.

All depends on YOUR needs and requirements.

Im still undecided. D-Day is coming soon, and I agree, the exclusivity of the MR is quite nice...and I would like a white one.....

However, the difference in price I can't negotiate down. for some reason the dealership I went to refuses to budge on an ordered price for an MR, as I will be ordering it if I can....or having it shipped. They insist someone will buy it if I dont for that price. Heard it all before.

So in another week or so, I will order a blue 9, still debating on the SSL.

If I can find a white MR IX, even used, I will take that instead..for the right price.
