What do you mean by that??? Things going wrong

i think he means things will go wrong as in the Evo's not going to be as reliable as ur s2k....?

if u frequent the s2k boards though, majority of them say that the s2k is not typical of Honda's usual bulletproof reliability...i'm sure it's still more reliable than the Evo though. my IX has 4700 miles and it's still perfect. my bro's s2k with 28k is perfect too.

as to whoever said the mr will get better mileage....that is incorrect. this is because the 6th gear of the MR is not a cruising gear. it is there for quicker high speed acceleration.

another thing to note is that the 5spd tranny is a Getrag unit, so it's stronger and can hold more power. all big powered Evo's so far (that i know of) are 5spd.

it'd be best if u could keep the s2k too....but hopefully u wont be disappointed with an Evo. the Evo IX has better acceleration than s2k even at higher speeds, and it achieves the same handling as s2k with awd grip. the s2k achieves great handling with lightweight and balance. different cars, but if u could only have 1 car, the Evo's the obvious choice IMHO

I hate to see u give up the s2k. My brother has one and its a fun car in a different way and u can toss it around and rev forever without worries..

no worries bro, i am in the same boat as you, selling my 03 silverstone for a evo, due to space. Prolly the main reason, other than that i love that car 9k rev whooo, with the top down, what more can you ask for. The evo is a beast with it torque and power.

I originally had a 96 tsi, sold it for a 2001 s2000, begin missing my tsi so i sold the s2000 for a evo. Of course, the s2000 is an overall fun car being a convertable and all, but the only way you can make power out of the thing is by spening $5,000 for a sc or turbo kit. I decided cost wise the evo would be the better route. The evo will keep you so occupied that you wont even miss the s2k. Just roll down all 4 windows and you will feel like youre in a convertable again

Are you going to be modding? If you are, go RS or GSR. Do not get SSL if you want to track the car as you will not be allowed to with the sunroof. And the sound system is not much of a upgrade, either. The HIDs can be added to any model (not from the factory, you can get them off of here, evom) for about $300ish for a nice pair, brighter than stock too.

go to roby mitsu in dublin, they will hook you up. Good luck on getting a test drive, unless they have a used one.

I've owned both as well and loved my s2k. You will definitely miss having the convertible, but it will be offset by the performance of the Evo. I didn't get the SSL package - IMO it's not worth the cost.

Good luck!

well for one ...the mr was the only one they had on the lot at my dealership..

seriously...i thought about the gsr...and then thought about everything i wanted as far as accessories....like aluminum shift knob, guages, parking brake handle, wickerbill, vortex generators, air brake guides, chin spoiler, hids, etc.....and once you add all of that it is about the same cost as an mr...and you still don't get the 6 speeds, smoother shifting, or the bilsteins.....and sense i don't plan on modding and racing but just daily driving it made since to get the mr...i did put my own pioneer sound system in it though...the factory system is not good at all....i don't know about the gsr infinity system with the sub but i hear it isn't good either...really in buying the mr the only thing i didn't like was the radio

if you plan on modding and racing and stuff i would get an rs
