Evo RS, No four Wheel ABS?

Im slightly confused. I was under the assumption the RS just got rid of all the normal things you'd see on a new car aka power windows and locks etc, spoiler, etc. Now that i've looked into it i can't find info on exactly what performance wise has been taken away. On the Mitsu sight it talks about it doesn't have four-wheel ABS with g-force senors. Does that mean it dosn't have 4 wheel ABS at all? Does it have the same All wheel drive system in it as the other evos then?

AWD is the same just no ABS systems. I liked how my RS broke better than my MR.

Nothing performance-wise has been taken away. With the 5 speed sometimes you run out of 4th gear late in a straight-a-way and a 6 speed would be nice... aside from that it's lighter than the IX or MR, everything else drivetrain, brakes, variable cam timing... etc.

No power anything
No Stereo or speakers
No ABS
Alum roof like the MR
Thinner gauge steel boot lid
Only comes in White or Red

I've heard a couple people state that had a hard time finding or couldn't find local RS models lately.

I love mine. Can lock up the tires at will, but never owned a car with ABS until 2002 and hated it.

When the Evo RS first came out in 2004, it actually ADDED the front LSD, since the regular Evo VIIIs in 2003 and 2004 didn't have them in the U.S. yet. However, after that, the front LSD and ACD were standard from 2005 on.

ABS is overrated. If you know how to modulate the brake pedal right instead of just mashing it, you'll be fine. I actually would prefer my Evo did not have ABS. All my previous cars did not have it and the brakes felt better at the track.

I see your point, and there are definitely some drivers who don't need ABS for performance purposes, but it also serves a safety purpose. That would be like saying that airbags are overrated, if you know how to avoid accidents. It's a nice thing to have anyway, just in case, since you never know when bad things will happen.
