Comp Cams vs HKS Cams

Im currently looking at purchasing some 272/272 cams....I cant decide on which brand I should choose? comp or hks? thanks!

I'd say go with the HKS 272s. If idle quality and reliabilty are concerns they're the better overall choice. I dont trust the stock springs with the Comp 272 grinds..

I'm looking @ the GSC 264/272 for $450-490. supposedly as good as the two you referanced.

Thats why i upgraded to dual valve springs titanium retainers and larger valves.

Comp cams have high lift, so you should really upgrade your valve springs and retainers with them. Just something to keep in mind.

There are plenty of HKS cam reviews so i am not going to comment on them. Havent heard much about buddy club cams. I think there was a turbo magizine review on them and they didnt do too well.

Personally i went with GSC 272's

Guys I Have Comp 280s Stock Springs And Retainers And Mike At Turbotrix Said They Are Just Fine Just Dont Rev Over 7800 Rpm And Idle Is Fine I Have Dynoflash Idle Control Its Smooth

Yeah the reason why Imma go with HKS cams is cuz i came across a good deal for $500, so imma go with them.....how will they run without a flash?

I too have the comp 272's on stock springs and retainers with no issues. I was told there would be no problems by the engineer who designed them at Comp. So, that's good enough for me.

They idle fine by the way.

I got buddy club cams. Same maker of tomei cams wich are extremely expensive. The buddy clubs have the exact same specs as the hks and all the same manufacturing procedures. Except i got a killer deal on mine. $420 shipped.

i can get great deals on GSC cams if anyone is interested! its what i run and i made 558 awhp on pump gas with meth injection with stock motor besides the cams and headbolts!

Why not check out JUN.. ams sells them. Are you willing to upgrade your springs though?

search the ams vendor forum and read up on them there is alot of info on them.
