I once had a guy come up to me and ask if I did all the conversion myself!! I was like, no my friend, this is the real thing...

 

I had a guy crawl over into the passenger side of his car while he was driving down the road at 55 to get a better look. After he was done, I showed him the back end while demonstrating that the EVO can also "walk the walk".

Most people are astonished that the car was delivered stock with all the performance bits (wheels, tires, brakes, spoiler, etc...).

 

It is very interesting to drive a rare-ish new car around, isn't it? You actually have to build time into your drives to bs with the locals.

I sometimes feel like I'm driving around in a UFO full of naked women with all the attention a Yellow Evo gets.....huhu

It'll eventually pass....once everyone has seen one...and knows someone with one.

I drive a black one which is a little more low key...I can only imagine what a yellow one gets.

I had one guy at a stoplight in a trance looking at the big front Brembos. He stared at them for the entire 30 seconds. And yesterday, I was coming out of the grociery store and saw a guy walking laps around the car.

In Austin it's pretty rare. I've only seen one other (white) in the area.

I've seen that lotus to, they had it at Bldr Nissan last summer for like 50,000.

I took my ex-gf to check the e7 last winter in Gunbarrell...she talked **** and said she'd be excited if it was a cool car...eh, she's history. Other fems do appreciate it..but they're as rare as blondes that don't dye.

I stopped to get a smoothie the other day and parked in front of a retail shop. When I came back from getting my drink there were 3 sales guys standing outside drooling and one of them was taking photos from all over the place. He immediately asked me to pop the hood so he could get more pictures and then he wanted to get a shot of the car from the side as I rolled away. It was too funny. The best part was when one of them asked me if I was going to put a BOV on the car, because if I was serious about speed I'd put a BOV on the car.

You're probably right. The one taking pictures...first thing he said was "Man, you have perfect taste in cars." rofl I'm sure people who love the Evo would all say that. People who don't love the Evo wouldn't ever say that. Totally subjective.

 

I was driving back from the dealership (I just picked it up on Monday),and there's this 3rd gear turn that I love to take fast so I couldn't resist, dropping her down to third, and nailing it (I can't believe how well this car pulls out of a turn ). I backed off after that and the next thing I know there's this guy in a A4 Cabriolet trying to catch up to me to take a closer look.

I think he was impressed.

There are also a bunch of ricer's that live down the street from me & I heard a couple of them talking. One was like "Wow an EVO"!. The other one said "No way, it's a fake". I laughed and thought to myself, "good, they are less likely to mess with it if they think it's fake".

 

Mine's yellow, the very second that i pulled the car out of the mechanics bay at the dealer onto the street a cop flipped a u-turn and followed me 3 miles into a different city!!! I park it near an enterprise rent-a-car office during the day and they tell me all the time that several people come in off the street attempting to rent it everyday. the attention is just ok at times, but I swear this car should've come with cop repelant spray, being followed for miles while doing exactly the speed limit is getting old.
