Right after we bought it we were starved and stopped at a char-o-chicken to grab a bite. As we parked right in front all the employees gathered at the window and stared at it. Paying for the meals we were told the drinks were for free as 'nobody that drives such a cool car should have to pay for sodas'...

Of course we've had the usual 'groups circling the car', thumbs up driving along, 'is that an evo?', people repeatedly speeding up and slowing down to get a look, folks having the illusion they'd have a chance racing it. Even the cop writing the ticket the other day seemed a bit confused about exactly what he was looking at.

But I have yet to hear the 'body kit questions' in the VIII. I used to own a VI RS-2 and my then-girlfriend-come-wife was asked 'is there anything left original on that car?' - when she said it's all original he didn't believe her and told her he never heard of it, and that car doesn't exist...

BTW about those girlfriends - my wife was the one that convinced me that we should get that EVO VIII now and not wait for the initial rush to die down... when I sold the VI because we couldn't import it she made me promise I'd buy her another one whenever we got the opportunity again... and baby recaro seats once we have kids. Dealers always have a hard time believing that she really isn't interested in cars without a stick-shift...
