Has anyone had this happen to them?

I was going to Circuit City to look for some speaker wire harnesses to change out my speakers in the car and a guy pulls up next to me and asks "Is that a real Evo?". I don't know if he was in awe or if he thought I just hooked up a regular Lancer. Either way the car is getting a lot of attention. At one Circuit City I stopped at during my search all the guys who were in the car audio installation bay just stopped working entirely for 15-20 minutes just to come outside and look at the car.

More women in thong bikinis need to work at these places!

The draw of this car astounds me. A buddy of mine with a red Evo was parked at school w/out his parking pass. When he returned he found a school parking ticket on the window , but there were no boxes checked. It only said "You would normally have been fined for no pass, but because this is an Evo I'll let you off once".

LOL, this car rocks

Same here.. The question that I've been asked most frequently is "Is that a REAL Evo" and the second is "When did it come out?" The third question is "Did those wheels come stock?"

Hehe.. And I haven't had anyone in a thong ask me any of those questions.. Of course, my G/F wouldn't have been too happy if it happened anyway.. ROFL

I had two guys almost crash their car trying to get a closer look. I had to stop to take a phone call. They pulled over as well to look at the car. " Dude is that a real EVO?" " We almost hit this old lady trying to see the car up close"? They were very nice!

One thing I have noticed, people are trying to race me. Or block me on the highway. I have had problems with kids in cameros, gtp's, and a Honda that looked like it belonged to a I know this sounds paranoid, But it is really happening.

The car flat turns heads. I'm an old dude and every day I'm ask about the car. Here is a short list of what happens two or three times a day!

1. Followed by guy in a Teg for about 5 miles. I finally pulled into a car wash and spent 20 minutes talking about the EVO.
2. A young couple (in their 30's ) pulled along side at a light and the wife? said "nice looking car". What is it?
3. Honda Prelude pulled along side today and REVs then gives a thumbs up.
4. Driving on a 4 lane and have people flash lights and honk their horn and wave going the opposite direction.
5. Trailed by a BMW Z3 who then promptly jumped in front of me and kept looking back. I downshifted and passed on the inside while waving. He waived back. I think it was a waive.
6. Young lady (mid 40's) smiles and waives. I smile and waive back. She winks. Wife smacks me.

Really fun!

Your right, I've also had people ask if the wheels and some of the other features like the wing were stock.

The stock wheel question is definitely on the top of my list for questions asked. Funny thing is, my girlfriend seriously searches for other people looking at my car and she has to make some sort of 'poor you' or 'oh my god those guys were just STARING at your car' comment. It's like her new hobby. My car is going to my girlfriends freakin' head, go figure.

EVO killed a Lotus Esprit V8 today on a windy road, the guy in the Lotus eventually pulled over and motioned me by. The Lotus sounded fantastic (Tubi exhaust?) if that's any consolation. Almost every time the car comes to a stop some one wants to talk about the car. It's fun for now but that celebrity thing will get old

If it was a green Esprit (early 90s), I've seen that guy around town before.

I'm sure you were babying the car around the twisties like usual Chrono...

I'm still cracking up at your kid munching on a cupcake while we squeeled corners.
