What would you do if placed in my situation and why?

Alright, here's the story. I'm 18 right now and drive a 2005 RSX Type-S. I've had it since October of '05 and I love it. I'll be starting college next year. This is my first car that I've modded (second car overall) so I know a few things about cars.

But, I've also come to respect the Evo as well as the STi. I'm thinking one of these will be my next car, but we'll see.

I was hoping the Evo would be because of it's sheer agressiveness and overall capability for power. I love the current IX models and was hoping that Mitsu would keep the model as is. But now I'm hearing about the Evo X coming in automatic with paddle shifters only and the FMC that has been designed looks like **** in my opinion. And automatic is definitely not an option.

Now the STi, on the other hand, is also agressive and can hold quite a bit of power as well. Even though it's soon to tell, the hatchback idea looks hideous. And coming from a hatchback, I'm fairly certain I wouldn't want to go to another one.

So who knows what the future holds...

Now what I'm thinking right now is to save up for a new car once I'm out of college or close to graduating. I hope I'm making this clear.

What would you guys do if you were in my situation and 18 years old?

For a third car I would just stop modding my RSX, save for an evo, find a good cosigner and put like 10 grand down on an evo nine. I just bought my 8 used with 6500 down. But i had an excellent cosigner, and got low 7 percent financing on a three year old car.

that's the thing...i mean all of these are nice cars. but if you buy a used one, you don't know how it was treated during a) break-in period and b) throughout the time the previous owner drove it.

it's hard to say how the Evo X or new STi will turn out.....

if u're not going to get a car for a couple more years, just wait patiently....in 3 or 4 years (after u're done with college and ready to buy ur 3rd car) the car market will be very different....

if u're going to buy a car now, Evo IX hands down

Bad things can happen to cars in college. Keep what you have, save your money, graduate, get a good job, get settled, then treat yourself to a new car. New cars that are available when you graduate are going to be even better than what's available now.

in the new road and track they have a small article on the new imprezza (page 24). it should be a two door hatch to compete with audi. it looks pretty nice.

Your a kid, wait till you get out of college and buy something really sweet like a 911/m3/Elise/Exige..used C6 Z06.

An RSX is more than enough what a college dude needs.

don't do it unless you have enough money for a garage and gas. My condo doesn't have garages so it's a big risk. Gas is also killing me at 40 bucks and 230 miles a week. IMO just stick with the rsx.
