upgrade to a IX MR vs my 03 VIII???

So, just putting this out there to see people's thoughts...
I have an 03 VIII and I love it but there are things I cant stand on a day to day basis considering i drive 80 miles round trip for work a day. The things i am annoyed with are the rattles of course, loud exhaust, "every bump feel" suspension. I am always on a conference call in the morning and can barely here anything.

I know i can change the exhaust again and put on coil overs but I was wondering if anyone else has moved to an IX and what their feelings are about the switch. I would love a new S4 or M3 but i feel like i would be stepping down in a car for much more money. Also, i do not want a different daily driver, i buy my cars to enjoy them day to day. Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks.

Just buy the MR suspension from the classifieds. Same interior and same exhaust so I fail to see how an MR would help any.

remember the first time you got in your evo?
the first time you step on it with your right foot
you'll have that feeling back again

I'm going to sound like your dad here but, you are stepping into another car payment when your current ride is already 3+ years old and probably close to paid off. I don't get some of these guys on this board always wanting the newest toy!! No wonder why none of us can get out of debt......... Are you going to get a X when it comes out? Be smart and do what some others have suggested, buy a quite exhaust and upgrade your suspension. Trade-in values for evos sucks, and a new car will put you in a bigger hole financially. Like Tym Switzer told me, you have to trade comfort for performance ( and thus noise levels and rattles increase with increased performance ) I know, try a twin-disk clutch!!!!
I'm out...

I totally agree with you and that is why i posted, to see how much of an improvement the IX actually is.

What will a twin disk clutch get me???

upgrade your current car. there's not enough of a plus going to the new 9mr. also the bilstiens really aren't that comfertable either.

If you "upgrade" to an IX, you are still not going to hear your conference calls and you are still going to feel every bump.

Just upgrade - there are plenty of other reasons to get the IX - better platform for modding, etc. The Bilsteins in my view are perfect in terms of balancing performance and ride. Really much nicer than the GSR I drove.
The lower ratio on the highway (in sixth gear) will save a little gas and noise too.
