basically, I was told our cars have more RF interference than others and you can send it back to them to put a solder in it to fix it. Your laser sensitivity will still be top notch they say. If you don't have a warranty left or never had it like me who bought it from ebay, you have to pay $79.95 for the repair service. Here is the number. Just call them to get an authorization number.

you need to get rid of that POS 8500 and pick up a ValentineONE. I've had my about a year now and this thing has the direction the radar is comming from. Just do a search on Valentine One.

lol the only thing lazer does for you on a v1 or 8500(i have both in different cars) is tell you you're going to get a ticket(if you were speeding when it goes off)

Here's an idea, why don't we leave the thread jacking out of this. The V1 vs. 8500 debate has been rehashed more times than I can remember. So STOP trying to convince people which one is better.

Now back on topic, that is a good find and I appreciate you posting this info. I know someone who has this issue who might like to fix it. I haven't had it happen to me yet, but I still might send it in for the fix anyways.

so true. if you get hit with a laser that is actually a cop checking speeds, and you're speeding, you're done. i dont understand the point of detecting them

the escort zr3 retail is 500 with basic installation. i have used one with a laser gun(stalker) when it first came out. it is a genuine product that REALLY works well.we could not get it to false. we used it installed in a back pack, on a closed course, and on i4 in tampa. never once did it not error the laser gun.
escorts customer service and knowledge are exceptional

im sure you can talk your way out of the 79 if you are the original owner with receipt. at least talk it down to 19 or 29.
