Think this may cause some lag?

a few things that i would not like
-having the weight of the turbo hang from rubber hangers (you would not want to hard mount it because it is an exhaust)
-having all the piping lead up to the front (possibly crush going over speed bumps or damaged by rocks)
-filter at the back behind the tires = water in filter, then water in turbo which is not good for bearings)
-damaging turbo if it hangs too low
-adding an oil return pump plus the added oil line
those are just some quick things about that.
mounting the turbo away from the engine (similar to ams's race car) is a good idea though to keep the heat away, but rear mounting... there could be a happy medium

I know a guy with a w6 firebird with a rear mounted turbo. With a stutterbox there is no lag from a dig, and that massive v8 takes no time at all to spool his t78. 700+ whp and 10's to prove it.
The return piping is coated with a chemical that disperses heat. Essentially, it acts as the intercooler, cooling the air on its return. As for the lag, they specifically stick with larger displacement motors for a reason. I don't know if they've messed with any smaller engines (maybe a v6, but no 4's that I've seen). I spoke with one of the techs a while back about running a setup on a v6...he pretty much said "We're only doing 8's right now." This was a couple years ago, so who knows.
They have plenty of information on their site...so if you're really interested, I'd check it out.
