Urban Legend????
This may or may not be an urban legend, but I heard this from a reliable source...
There supposedly is a USED Evo for sale, at a dealer in North Jersey. The story is that some father bought the car for his 17 YO daughter. Within the first week she got a speeding ticket. The speed listed on the ticket? How about 144 MPH? The father returned the car to the dealership and took his lumps.

With the STi due to be available.. I'll guarantee if you keep your eyes open you'll find several used EVO's (with mods already done) for sale.. Though knowing the **US** (the people who drive these cars) many will be thoroughly abused.. hehe..

On the other hand, I previously lived in California, where I had a friend who was pulled over twice within a few months for speeds around 130 MPH. At least one of the stops was a "felony stop" -- three cop cars surrounded him, and emerged with guns drawn. No arrest, no jail time, no loss of license. Just a huge fine, and he was put on probation, ensuring that if he got caught again, there would be no mercy.
I was cited in California for "only" 108 MPH. In court, I pleaded it down to a 99 MPH offense, which meant a smaller fine and half the points. Here in northern Virginia, I'd probably have to hire a lawyer to have any chance of avoiding jail time for 108 MPH.
Please don't find out personally what happens in your state for 100+ MPH.
