Actually coolguy I saw very small soundless snipet of the spot today. They only showed me the piece that my chick and I were in. Funny, I'm wearing a white shirt as well, although mine is a german soccer jersy In the snip that I saw my girl turns and looks DEAD in the camera (like she did it deliberately), and they left it in there!!! She didn't even want to go that day, tried to convince me to go to see a movie instead, now she'll be getting paid almost twice what I did plus residuals for a year. Ain't that about a *****!!!

And tpm17... is doing exactly what they should be doing as far as advertising. They are going after "young" dollars. Why? Brand recognition and brand loyalty. Get them hooked early and when they are older they will continue to buy more products, then beget more people who will then buy as well. It's great marketing strategy from my point of view. And who cares if young kids are driving these things?? I wish that my parents would have been able to buy me something this cool when I was a teenager. I'm only 27, not old but by no means a teenager, and I love the fact that kids will want to be driving EVOs. Remember though, we are enthusiats, and that means that we will never be fully satisfied with anything. Our satisfaction means perfection, and unfortunately perfection is impossible to acheive, meaning that not everyone out there will appreciate the car as much as we do, but that doesn't mean they don't have the right to ENJOY one, even if it's only a fraction of the enjoyment that we would get from driving it. **ricardon steps off the soap box**

So what was the commercial like?? What are they bringing to the public as far as marketing?? Is it a slogan type thing like Subaru's "The beauty of all-wheel-drive"?? What's up??

Is it a 100% Evo content commercial? Or is it a Lancer commercial that has a few Evo snippets in it?

This commercial is VERY important to . Marketing studies of gen-x and gen-y have shown that they are NOT particularily brand loyal.
The EVO will hopefully help cement in these younger generations as THE hip/cool car maker...

Since there were so many eclipses and lancers there with decals etc, I 'm pretty sure it's going to be one of those tuner commercials like Nissan and Honda have had before. Like where is talked about "our heritage" or something. WIth footage of people with lowered cars and stuff.

I guess Mitsu is preparing for the summer to come, along with the release of 2Fast 2Furious. I better hurry up and get myself one before it's too late. I'm in a weird way slyishly happy that the Evos did not have as much sucess as these SOB dealers thought it was going to have, but like many things in this country, if you put enough hype into it, WATCH OUT because people will beg borrow and steal to have it. The lull is now, and I see no better time than now to place your *** in an Evo. I just forsee June 6th as the death to the exotic auora around this car. Sorry for the babbling, it's a bunch of thoughts just put together while at the same time I'm thinking about the 4 finals I should be studying for which I must take tomorrow.

In conclusion, anyone here on Staten Island or in the area have their Evo yet?? I would sure as hell like ot meet up some day if it is possible to see and hear the almighty Evo VIII!

I think what worries me about the 2F2F movie is the "Supra Syndrome", giving dealers more of a reason to mark them up. If there was any way in hell, I would pick up an Evo. If it gets very bad, I'll just import a VII.

of course, maybe they'll just buy a lancer and rice it up, instead of an Evo, kinda like what I saw with DSMs from the first movie.
