Wanna make your EVO handle even better ?? Battery relocation!
Just got done moving my battery to the passager side of the trunk - it not sits back there in a fully vented summit recing battery box in polised alumin
The weight transfer was substantial
I expected to see a marginal and slight gain over stock
However - my testing tonight showed that the handling gains were DRAMATIC - it handels even more neutral than before - a lot more grip
I donty kknow why they dont ship the cars with the batteries in the trunk in the first place
BTW - yes it was slightly costly bny the time you add up the cost of all those monster cable battery connectors - 1/0 monster wire and fancy fuze blocks - but - it makes a huge gain in hadnling area - - - the stock was just puts too much wieght up high and too far forward

And all the fuse blocks and special connectors
BUT - after you consider that th factory went to all the cost and effort to make the valve cover in magnesium and then also to make hollow can shafts just to loose weight off of the top of teh engine - it seemed silly to me to keep dead weight there - - trust me - the car is much better balaced with the battery in the trunk

You can also replace your stock battery with a Batcap. It weighs less than 11 pounds and performs just as well a stock and better if you are into Autosound. You also lose 30pounds not only off the front half of the car, but off the total weight.

Actually, probably about 45lbs, making the balance of the car now 90lbs different (45 less in the front, 45 more in the back). For a car that weighs only 3000lbs, that's 1/30 of the weight of the car, so I'd expect some substantial improvement.

That is a good idea brother! BMW's have put the battery in the trunk for years! Also, it keeps the battery from getting all crusty over the years because it is not up in the front of the car getting all wet & dirty. ALso, where can I find these lightweight batteries I've been hearing about?

ok, so i was 25 lbs off. but your math doesn't make sense...taking 45 lbs and moving it to the back doesn't make you car weigh less or more, where the weight is at is different which affects the way the car drives (apparently). but there is no 90 pound swing. sorry.
