For those of you that think grounding kits are worthless...

I beg to differ. I put in my own home made version tonight. Much more stable voltage.

Today driving with A/C on blower set to 3 radio at a low level my volt meter read 13.8-13.9

After the grounding wires, A/C on blower set to 4, head lights on, radio cranked, and brake lights on 14.1-14.2

I used 8awg black wire, nothing special, and copper crimp rings. All this was procured from a stereo shop (for free, it’s good to know people). I didn’t want flashy 4awg translucent neon green. I installed it for stealth, so except the two ring terminals on the battery you can see nothing.

I have no idea about power gains, but I do know come time to install my sound system it will be happy. Getting all the juice it needs.

yup i do realized the more stable voltage after installing the grounding kit. Recently i installed the HKS DLI II and realise better response at pick up and smoother at high RPM too.

Hmm i was sceptical at first but i wonder if there is any actual hp gain, I knew they were good for beter audio quality but you got to run some thick wire like 4awg.

Pics please.

I just picked up some 8 & 4 gauge wire from my local stereo shop. I was also going to wire up a homemade ground kit. I have searched on here for the mounting points the Mitsu Grounding Kit uses but have had no luck. I have seen some of the aftermarket grounding kit diagrams. These are the points I know of:

Driver and Passenger side inner fenders
Cylinerhead
Battery post
Strut bar to intake manifold
Not sure how to ground the ignition coils
Not sure how to ground alternator

What points did you use?

Is there one really good thread about this that explains everything?

I had similar results when I installed my HKS Circle Earth. Less static on the radio also.

replace them all. make sure the kit you get has all the wires for the ground replacement, the kits with less are usually crap.

how do they work. meening do you take your stock wires off and replace them with thicker better wires and endclips and reinstall them to the same location the stock ones came off????

When dealing with audio system, there is something called the magic/big 3.
It get rids of dimming headlight and makes the whole electircal system more stable.
