Your best bet would probably to get regular ultra-white halogens, for a replacement. rather than spend 400 bucks on another H.I.D. set...

If I recall correctly off the top of my head the manual says the fog lights are H11 bulbs. No luck yet on casual looking around.

why does our lights up front have this outline of the light when you turn it on can you ajust that, because it gets on my nerves, and you know even when you manually ajust it with that switch, it still doesn't go away....I need some suggestions

If it's like the Audi's HID setup, there is a template which is cut to provide the sharp cut-off for the HID's so they don't blind oncoming drivers. IIRC, it's between the actual bulb and the lens on the Audi.
I think you'd have to take apart the light assembly to remove the template, if that's even possible on our Evo.
Hope that helps...

Has some good info and things to think about.

http://www.lightingresearch.com/metal_white.htm

Found this place that seems to have bulbs that would match the fog light color temp closer to the HID's.

Let us know what you do. I'm interested in your outcome.

edit: BTW, Most photographers prefer a wider color temp range (sunlight being the best) to bring out all details in what they shoot. Keep that in mind... So it may look a bit off but orange to blue color temps may actually help you see better at night.... Just a thought.

HIDs in your fog light housing will blind everyone on the road. Thats why HID "kits" for halogen housings are no good. The housing needs to be DOT approved for HID.......meaning the housing allows the light output to emit in a certain way that it doesnt blind people. THe projectors have the plate so you dont blind everyone on the road. My advice, dont touch the protective plate.

If you want an accurate HID output for your fog lamps you should buy evo 7 headlights because they have projectors for fog lamps instead of reflector type. Then get an H11 rebased bulb kit with d2s bulbs (d2r is for reflective housings like lexus, acura). Even halogen projectors have the little plate to correct the beam pattern. An HID fog lamp conversion for evo 7 housings would probably work perfectly and give you a perfect beam pattern. Prepare to spend about 800 - 1000 bucks though.

yeah, you can........ you want to replace them with D2S HID bulbs. I recommend some philips ultinon or osram xenarc 6000K ones.

Dont forget the Fog lamp housing is also used for air flow to cool the tires/breaks.

I have already changed the fogs. They are h11's. Kinda hard to find bulbs because none of the big names make h11 superwhites yet.
