Why Mitsubishi, Why?

I need to ask a question....why doesn't treat it's american buyers the same as it's japanese? Granted i'm a lil young and don't know much at all , i just don't see why they can't just bring the Evo VII, not any new model, not any different model, the Evo VII (of course there's the left/right wheel and wider seats for us more wider americans). I mean, mitsubishi's gotta see that there's a large market in the united states for lancers, and they're treating us like crap!

The first war time use of the A-bomb probably didnt help things much.

Welcome...

Past sales determine future market strategy. Since the AWD Eclipse GSX didn't do that well in the early 90's, Mitsu didn't want to risk anything trying to sale an even more expensive/performance oriented vehicle in the US market until the demand is proven...

Bringing the EVO over involves more than just shipping the cars over...

Yeah...I'd be pretty vengeful if someone dropped a nuke on me...but man...holding out on an Evo? That's just downright mean!

it's not only that does it to Nissan doesn't send over the Skyline and Honda doesn't send over the Type R anything. Who knows why this is done.
The US always seems to get the detuned version whether it be a Mercedes or a BMW, maybe there's a method to the madness?

Just my opnion however

I have a hole theory on all of this and when I'm not so lazy I'm going to post my little rant.

Actually, a lot of other markets (ie: HK, UK and some other countries) do not have EVO officially imported. However, they have them thru grey-import market.

It's just a matter of Japanese tends to keep the best stuff to themselves.

They don't, seriously, they imported them un-officially until R-34. Let's say in 1995, if you go to any Nissan dealership in HK, you won't find GTR in their catalog. Only grey-import companies import them. However, there are tons of GTRs, WRXs, and of course EVOs on the road since grey-import is about 15-20% cheaper than official import by Car dealership....
