I just ran my car slightly hard, I was rather boost happy. I got home, turned it off, let the turbo timer cool it. Then I noticed a pinging noise near my heat shield every few seconds, as it cooled. I don't know if it was coming from the heatshield or. . . the manifold, I can't tell. But it's like "ping, " " ping." Any ideas?

Yeah, I just got a cusco stainless steel heatshield, likely it expanded further than the stock one, under hard conditions, probably explaining the sound.

 

All cars make a pinging sound when you turn them off.

 

Have you ever had a car before?

 

My other car doesn't.
