Tinting windshield triggers SRS (airbag) light??
Ok. You've got to give a little info.
Is this a question, statement of fact, something that happened to you, what?
I don't see why it would or why you would want to tint your windshield but, I'm pretty sure I've seen someone on here do it before with no issues.

Ya.. it triggered my SRS light... not sure how but light came on after the tint.
The only thing that I come up with is that installer had to spray lots of water on the
windshield (inside).. maybe some moisture sipped down under the windshield??
Where are the sensors?

I actually have some insight on this. My mother's car airbag light came on and she took it to the dealership (new car and Suzuki Reno) anyway they took the whole car apart. The thing looked like the guys car in that weight reduction thread. Anyway come to find out that coffee had spilled in the car and shorted out a srs sensor. $1100 bucks to fix and not under warranty obviously. I would take that tint off bring it to the dealer and play dumb and no telling how much to fix on the evo probably twice and much. But the soapy water they spray when tinting and the fact that all the electronics are in the dash is not a good thing. Don't insurance total cars if the dash had water in it cause there is really no way to fix it then to replace everything. I not saying what you have is that extreme but just something to think about. Why tint the front...I have to roll my side window down in dark area when turning of a street cause of the tint couldn't imagine the front.

this is what i would do,let the car seat on the sun with the windows down for half a day, disconnect you battery for half hour at least, after half hour has pass reconnect the battery start the car and see if the srs light still on if is not on then you are in good shape if it comes back right after you turn the car on,then u have a hart fault on you srs system, you have nothing to losse at this point right
just give it the shot, some times when water gets in there the computer get's crazy and send's and unwanted signal that's why im telling you to reset it good luck

Thank you caliquala...but I'm wondering has anyone else try this?
I've heard that SRS cant be reset... except by dealer special tool.. is that true?

The little bit of research I did says no amount of time with the battery disconnected resets SRS lights. One guy left his disconnected for three hours and it did not reset.
You pretty much have to take it to the dealership to have it reset. Maybe a collision repair center could do it if you don't want to take it to the dealership.

I hate when stuff like this happens....poor guy just wanted to tint the windows and now he has a major issue on his hands. Good luck hope it doesn't cost you too much. Hope it is some kinda of reset and no dissassembly and replacement that is where it gets expensive
If they left your key in the on position while tinting your car the battery voltage could have dropped low enough and it set a code for low voltage to the srs unit. Try diconnecting your battery for a while and reconnecting. It could be that, if it was an intermitnent failure the light will stay off.
In MA, driver + pass. sides, have to be lighter than 35% and nothing on the winshield below (I think) 12" from the roof or or you get ****ed.
...And you need to have the dealer pull the SRS code to find out whats going on, circumstantial or otherwise.
