Goodbye EVO goodbye Mitsu....
I guess I always knew that someday it would come down to this but after three years of owning my Evo and after weeks of hassle with Mitsu and the dealership my EVO is gone. My Mitsu/dealership headaches are in another thread on here but sufice to say after the way Mitsubishi and the dealership both dealt with me my choice was clear. In the end a 15-year Mitsubishi driver and a 10-year customer of the dealership was not worth $500 to either, despite my intentions to buy an Evo X and despite the fact that they tied up my car for 8 days and 6 days overnight!
Sad to say but the Evo is simply so jaded warranty-wise that it becomes an impossible car to own once it is out of warranty.
I've always used the analogy that the Evo is like a thoroughbred race horse....it runs fast but I don't want to own it when it breaks a leg and I have to shoot it. Well that time has come.
In the end I am embarassed to own a Mitsu based on how Mitsu treated a long time customer and I am embarassed to have anything to do with the dealership based on how they treated a long time customer. It was apparently not worth $500 to them to have me buy a $40K Evo X.
I will never buy another Mitsubishi and I will avoid this dealership like the plague. As of last week my Evo has been sold and I've replaced it with a car that will work out much better and is a blast to drive (and much easier to live with on a daily basis).
For everyone out there in Evom I say goodbye and thanks for your help over the years. Good luck to those who keep their Evos and even more luck to those that keep them beyond their warranty period.
Goodbye Evo, goodbye Mitsubishi, goodbye Evom.

I think you'll be changing brands quite alot if you believe that every delearship will give warranty.

Your thread showed the incompetance of the Mitsubishi Dealer and not the quality of the car.
Nonme the less i think you would be better off with a KIA that has a 1o year warranty

Actually the Evo was fun for a while but hard to live with on a daily basis. I'm very happy with my new car both performance and comfort-wise. Different cars fit different people I guess. I had a great time with the Evo I just can;t deal with all o fthe costly headaches in its future.
Keep in mind here that this was a car that was never modified, never raced, garage kept and dealer serviced....I can;t do anything more than that.

I guess I knew there would be at least one guy who'd take offense to me posting this...too bad. There are plenty of fun cars that are reliable and have a good warranty. Every car I've owned on the street and on the track has been a blast to drive but I doubt you'll find a Kia in my driveway anytime soon.
