replacing stock gauges???
replacing stock gauges???
I just switched my raido and gauges on my MR. Now that they are more visible, I realized how crappy they are..... I want to eventually go with defi's. But was wondering, whats the deal with getting those when you already have gauges? Do you have to tap into other parts to get readings, or can you use the stock wires. Also, are there any guages, that just replace the stock ones that are better quality? Or maybe just a better panel that goes behind the gauges? thanks for the help guys.

Your MR gauges are already pretty nice.
My advice is not to replace them unless you absolutely need to after major modifications to your car...with a higher reading of boost, wideband, oil pressure, and fuel pressure..etc. You already paid for them, why change them now?

Since you already have the relocation kit just get the 3 gauge bezel.

I would definately do the second one if I got the defi's...
The first one is chill too... but if I got new gauges, are they just plug and play w/ the stock wiring?
another reason I want to replace them, is when I moved them up top, I noticed that one corner is bent out, and the black on the same side is scraped off. I kinda noticed the scrape before, but now that it is up top it is much more noticeable, and looks cheap.... Maybe I can just get a new black back piece from mitsu.

I would get more important gauges than stock ones. I am putting in boost, oil pressure, egt in the triple spot and putting a wideband on the steering wheell. I don't think that volts and oil temp are prirority

I would replace just the boost..but I'd like the others to match as well
Im thinking I may just get that burshur piece.... But my main question is: are any of the aftermarkey gauges plug and play with mitsu's stock ones? or at least could I just splice wires? or do I have to run new lines to get readings???
i meausred My Oem Gauges They were like 40 MM or something but Basicly Nothing fits Where the Are, you need to modify that bezzel or get a new one. I like the Stock gauges, Theyre are More accurate than Autometer Lol. Someone Reccomened i Get an Autometer Gauge at my shop and I was Like [Sarcasim] Sure [/Sarcasim]. One Of those Big Tacs LOL With the Shift light AHHAHA. But anyway The Defi Gauge seem to work well and Look HOT. But the Factory Gauge are good, The violtmeter IMO is usless unless your an Audio freak that has like sixteen amps and 48 subs. I would Do with some Mods a A/F ratio and EGT. And Keep the Boost and Oil temp. an probaly do a custom Made Charge Temp. I have never Seen a Charge Temp Gauge (I would Be more Concerned with My Intake charge temp than My Exhaust gas temp) But i am not A Mod guru or a Tunning Guy, Just don't Buy your gauges at AZ.
