how to find accident infor on your car??

I was about to buy this car when i came across its carfax report. Although no frame damage was reported there was an accident. This is what it says

"10/07/2005 California
Police Report Accident reported
in Foster City, CA
Vehicle involved in crash
with an object "

Should i be worried? There is no way to get in touch with the owner of the car at this time is there anyway I could call the police station or look it up online to get more info on this crash? THe title is not slavaged

I would be wary......the local PD will not typically give you a report unless you were involved in the incident (local conditions may vary). Also, searching for the report will be a pain in the a$$. I would pass on it.

If i were in your shoes I would pass on that one without a second thought unless its a great deal and you have it thoroughly inspected.

Just walk away from that deal. Car was involved in an accident with an object (wall, lamp post, fire hydrant, etc.) Not the type of used car history you would like.

honestly buying a car with an accident history isnt that big of deal unless you plan on re selling it. if you plan to keep the car forever, if the car looks straight, drives straight, you could probably use this carfax accident report as a hold to reduce the price of the car.

=)

people need to get over the whole obsession with accident reports, unless its a rollover.

if you got it checked out by a mechanic and they said everything was ok and you really liked the car i would go for it. But of course i would have to haggle alot for the price to be lower because of that lol.
