Rank Your Priorities
Everyone seems to be talking about what an Evo is for on the "Evo is overrated thread." So let's see what really matters to everyone...
Rank your priorities in terms of how you want to mod your car or what's most important to you.
Mine:
1. Overall performance balance (for occasional track days)
2. Handling
3. Reliability
4. Horsepower
5. Show
I want to be able to use my car for the occasional track day and be able to drive it without too much risk of it completely breaking down on me. Making sure that my Evo can turn and stop is just as important as how well it goes.
What's yours?

I think that overall balance is my goal. But all of the categories people have listed are a part of that balance. So they are all important.
But here is what I am doing in order.
1) Alcon/Stasis brake setup/some sort of ducting from front bumper
2) Ohlins/swaybars/strut bars/baffled oil pan
3) Fixed back seats/rollbar
4) CCW wheels and RT615
5) 3"TBE/Buschur intake/Custom cold air box (home depot)/custom tune/Walboro
and allthat should hold me off for a while

How i did was
1. looks (can't stand the stock tails, and had to get the heads to match)
2. power (eh, i waited 15k for this one)
(Tie for 3) Tires + Brakes
4 Handling.

Interesting results so far. I know that there are some people that are all about the 1/4 mi that haven't replied.
Still, do you think that HP is the easiest thing to increase on this car so most people focus on it?
I always hear talk of how suspension tuning is a "black magic" so maybe people are happier wrenching on their cars with drivetrain mods that will give them tangible results. It's easier to mod your exhaust and use the butt dyno than to dial in a suspension. So far the responses are similar to my thinking. I would have expected most people to say HP in their responses.

1. Confidence-inspiring
2. Balance
3. Reliability
4. Handling
5. Braking
6. HP
The most important to me is how much confidence I get from the car as a driver. It's a hard dynamic to quantify, as it's almost solely dependant on the fit between a given individual and the machine. Short of a 997, the Evo fits best with my driving style, my preferences and expectations.
