Question Where do people buy CF Hoods/Trunks?

Just wondering where people bought their CF parts...I'm interested in a vendor who's got the most selection.

Streetconcept has some good looking hoods. But I wonder on the quality and fitment. They are known for some crappy things.

seibon is the most common, but usually the good stuff comes from japan cuz no one wants to patronize the american race shops that have dry cf facilities (sad)

The CF hood/trunks are heavier then stock. I guess they are just for the "bling" factor, not a better choice for racing. my 2c

Civics don't use aluminum hoods, I don't think, so adding a CF hood would make a noticable difference. A dry CF hood would be lighter than the stock aluminum hood but dry CF hoods are expensive, hard to come by and not worth it IMO. As for the trunk...people have claimed that they saved a lot of weight switching to a CF trunk but I can't say for sure.

The ones here in question are. Seibon. cheaper=heavier. don't know enough about the trunk to know which is heavier/lighter though.

Seibon's products are crap. My buddy bought a VG from them and it doesn't even come close to fitting.

Beware the Seibon TS-II. Heavy cracking.

that's not telling the whole story. all cf trunks are gonna be lighter than the stock one by a good bit. some lighter than others depending on their construction.

as for the hoods, i weighed my seibon hood and my stock hood and the seibon was lighter by .2lbs. there are other hoods out there a lot lighter than that. again, it depends on the type of hood, and it's construction. if it has a fiberglass or full cf shell...if it's wet or dry carbon...all that makes a difference. there are hoods for our cars that weigh as little as 4lbs, and some that weigh 20+. you just have to look around and be willing to pay for quality.

if you're looking for carbon parts, i actually have a seibon trunk with UK trunk badge already installed for sale, as well as an OEM seibon Cf hood. i replaced the trunk with a chargespeed one, and i plan to do the same with the hood. good luck with the search.
