i'm kinda stuck and need your guys' advice. my 04 rs has a little under 55k and i'm looking to trade it in for a new 06 Ix se. does this sound like a good idea? i bought the evo in july and have enjoyed every second of it. i love the rs's racey feel and performance but i dont like the lack of power windows/locks, crappy radio system,etc. if i get the 9 i probably won't mod it as long as i have warrenty. i'm only going to do it if my payments either stay the same or go lower. thnx in advance

 

With a mod list like that I am sure you will get the bug...

Depends on where your money is at.

 

the 9 still has a crappy radio system.
If your thinking about trading in it, then do it before the SE is gone. You only live once and a new 9 would be nice upgrade from an 04.

 

I wouldn't get the SE. I'd just go for a normal IX.

wow, that's exactly what I did! I traded in my o4 RS w/ 45k miles for IX SE two months ago! Yes, RS was raw and edgy and I did'nt mind the inconveniences since I got used to them. But, that nagging oil leaks and all the hype of mivec got me!

And, it's all true! Mivec is NICE! I don't regret it w/ SE. It's nice package and the pwr window, locks and insulation don't hurt either.

The more you think about it, the more you want to do it!!! It was nagging me all day all night, so I did it! Got great trade in and incredible 2k under invoice for my SE! It kinda worked out...GL!

 

i want the SE because it's prety much an MR wihout the 6speed. that's exactly what i want. and the 9's seem to make more power much easier. Mivec anyone ?!

Why not? Aluminum roof is worth it all by itself IMO

 

my insurance did not change. pmt, is all depend on your unpaid balance. And yes I did start another journey of monthly coupons. Too bad, I had that RS just paid off too!

One diff. about the ix from viii, is the sense of mechanical refinement - smooth and fatter power band. This thing just streaks w/ power and speed on highway. I find myself routinely pushing over three digits. I did'nt do that w/ viii.

if you're serious about not modding it, then get the SE---however, you have an awesome car right now as it stands! either way, you can't go wrong

i think the SE is worth the extra 4k but does everyone else? i have yet to drive the new evo's so all help is greatly appreciated. i know i must get the evo soon that's why this is soo important. my rs isn't paid off yet. would that be a big problem with the trade in? i don't want to be bending over every month! thnx again

 

what dealer did you work with? i wanted to do the same, but all the local dealers to me are tightasses and won't go under MSRP or give a good trade. i only needed them to work an exta $1K out in the deal and the salesman wouldn't budge! can you believe that?! all he had to do was add it to my trade or drop it off the sticker and he wouldn't, i love seeing that car still sitting there for the last 2 months since i went in for the trade. i hope he has to sell it for $3K under sticker!
