I don't yet own an EVO but I am planning to. I have seen many of them at dealer lots. I drive a modded 99 Eclipse GST spyder and have pretty good idea about 4G63's potentials. Here are some of my general observations:

- Evo looks so much better in person and looks incredibly purposeful

- It seems Mitsu scrapped the bottom of barrel in gathering their dealers. So many of them are so shady and unprofessional!

- Their warranty policy on warranty voidance on modified evos is a joke. A dealer gave me a folded EVO pamplet from Mitsu Corp. that features a two full pages titled "let Mods begin" (or reference to it), what a JOKE!!! I guess all those who followed this path got trashed on their warranty! Luckily, I have not had any major problems with my Eclipse, so far.

- Mitsu products depreciate faster than a sinking Nasdaq stock, they lowballed my Eclipse's trade in value so much I walked out of their showroom demoralized and feeling sick to my stomach!

The reason I would by an EVO is for its incredible performance offered at great value. It's just shame Mitsu associated this great product with conflicting policies of warranty and marketing and their association with those bottom of the barrel quality dealers!
