I checked and searched many many times...

but this noise is unique.... I'm getting a crackling noise... both idle AND when i'm driving sounds like putting oil on a pan and setting it on HIGH... that type of crackling noise.... it's coming from my backseat and passenger side seat... can this be the fuel rail crackling?? i don't think it's coming from the engine... so no cam noise or injectors.... definately can hear it on the passenger side seat and trunk

a sound/video bit would be nice... maybe it's exhaust related. Does it change when you rev it up?

 

do you have leather ricaros? maybe they are ripping every time you lean your head to your passanger side to hear the noise, you shift your weight and rip the seat some more and , then you lean to the back and rip it some more and hear the sound.

nah jp, what direction does it seem like its coming from exactly? also does it happen when you have a passanger in the car only?

 

Could it be fuel pump whine?
