Best time I could get this last summer was like a

60' 1.7
react is .087

do you think the stereo really cause's the car to be that much slower in the 1/4

well any guess on how much it weighs...this shouldn't really be in evo general by the way

I'm sure it does affect your 1/4 time though

...at least you sound good going down the track... 12.92 is garbage for those mods...are you tuned? You may as well run down the track with all 5 seats occupied lol ... spare tire is going to do that much seeing you got a dead body in the trunk

usually...

the driving seems good though.. the e.t. matchs the trap and 60' is good.

its a simple fix... just get a 50 trim or 35r =p

But see I will be on pump 90% of the time and maybe 2-3 times a month at the track... so I was thinking with going with a 35r with alky around 25psi.... dont really want to push my limits on the motor so im still unsure what I want to do... I have $2,500 to spare so maybe a used 35r kit or IX turbo with alky?? But back to topic I LOVE music... I would hate to get rid of my stereo. since rush hour comute is a 40 mins everyday depending on traffic...

Sounds like you enjoy the stereo 95% of the time. It's an easy fix, just take the box/amps/spare/etc. out before you take it to the track.

For me it's a little different, I would rather have the overall performance of the car over the stereo. Pretty much the reason my stereo is still stock! The less weight the better for me.

i'm with you bro. got 2 x 10" subs in a custom ported box, 2 big amps, then front splits, head unit and processor. plus sound deadening. this is in my current car but will be going in my IX. i know its gonna cause major weight issues but good audio cant be beat.

I use the Pioneer Premier slim 12" sub with the matching Pioneer box and an eD amp rated at 300 watts rms. I rotated the box so it fires into the cabin instead of the trunk lid and the entire combo weighs no more than 50lbs. It has enough bass to really liven up the music (I come with a car with JL XRs all around and a 13W7) for everyday use.

You should decide if you want to perform in a stereo competition or a drag race competition or be decent at both.

Right now you're decent at both, but your ET's would be quicker if you reduced the 150 extra pounds.

I had a stereo in my evo and then decided I wanted performance, so I'm not gonna bash you like some people would, but the evo is a performance car, you could put a stereo in anything.

I love music, too, but I don't think that adding 150lbs of audio gear to a street-legal race car is a great idea.
