This was also my problem. I flew from Wisconsin to Ohio yesterday to buy my car and it started acting up 180 miles from home.

 

Damn it, now my SRS light is on. I disconnected the battery before unplugging the harnesses, and plugged them back in before restoring power. I think I'm going to take the car in for warranty, let them screw with this.

yeah im about to head out and get some connectors and silicone, cuz I SUCK at soldering....

 

Have you had the alternator tested? My 92 Laser had the same type of problem and it turned out to be the alternator.
