(mbc) Be Careful!!!!

there has probably been a thread about this numerous times but from my personal experience today, if you install a mbc or ebc yourself, make sure you turn it all the way down...today i recently upgraded to a full tbe, walbro 255, and a forge mbc...everything went great...the only problem is that i turned the boost controller up 20psi on my boost gauge...it felt even stronger maybe because of the other modifications but when i went to launch at my normal spot, i spun 1st, and 2nd gear before i could blink...i couldnt believe it..i knew i spun 1st and second because shortly after i got a huge rush of burnt evo clutch...not to mention a huge backfire!!!...anyway the point im making is have someone who knows evo's install and set your mbc safely so you know what you can do..fortunately i am getting tuned this saturday so everything should be fine, but i guess i am boosting more than i thought, especially with a (autometer) 20-0-20 boost gauge...not sure how accurate...

i would get a boost gauge that reads higher than 20. you may be hitting 25psi but only think its hitting 20psi

I agree, you're probably running alot more boost than you think you are. You should lower it to a boost level that is just below your boost gauges max to be on the safe side. Then turn it up slightly higher so that you don't go too far over 20psi.

I think the bigger problem here is you cant drive and you slipped your clutch too much and burnt it up. Just be happy your engine isnt blown. Get tuned with a MAP sensor to see what kind of boost you are really running.
