Evo competition: LeSabre, Maxima, Avalon???
The 2003 Lancer Evolution is a 4-door, 5-passenger sports sedan, available in one trim only, the Sedan. The 2003 Lancer Evolution's closest competitors include the Buick LeSabre, the Nissan Maxima, and the Toyota Avalon. Upon introduction, the Lancer Evolution is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 271-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The 2003 Lancer Evolution is all-new for 2003.
In the Vehicle Summary, they also state that the Evo has a 4-spd automatic with OD and that it's FWD.

They've got to be kidding! Do they know anything about the Evo? The Buick, Nissan, and Toyota are 4-door, 5-passenger cars and they can be close in price to the Mitsubishi, but that's about it! Who do they think is going to comparison-shop the Evo along with these three cars????
Oh, wait, I'm mistaken... these cars are much closer to the Evo than I first thought. They have:
- 4 wheels
- 4 tires
- power steering
- power brakes
- power door locks and windows
- accelerator pedal and brake pedal
- windshield
- rear-view mirror
- speedometer, odometer, and other gauges
- headlights
- brake lights
- floormats
- glovebox
- radio
- ignition switch
- and many other special features
