Anyone making big power on stock LICP?
I know this is going to sound stupid, but my local shop said little to no gain on an VIII, then said decent gains on the IX's (this is before I told them I have a IX...
).
They said one of the IX's in the D.C. Metro area actually gained 10+whp on a before and after dyno with the LICP being his only mod. I have not yet verified this, but will look to see if this dyno graph has been posted on any of the local forums.
Hopefully, this was not one of those before and after dynos where the custom tune wasn't accounted for (i.e. they may have had a mail-in flash previously...)

I just installed a ETS licp (This is the actual manufacturer of the HPF 2.5". HPF and ETS have broken their relations, and ETS is selling direct, and little cheaper than HPF judging by some threads)
I feel a difference. It seems to start building boost at the normal rpm, but reaches max boost sooner. It slams you in your seat harder at that magic moment of 3000 rpm, as if boost was triggered by a switch. Maybe Mitsu designed the stock pipe to reduce this sudden surge that some reviewers complain about when driving in traffic. But I like it. It pulls a bit harder up top too.
This is a good bang for buck mod. Can big power be made without it? Yes. Can big power be made without cams? Yes.

The only thing different this time is the LICP. We will see what power it makes.
And for the record....I had no boost leak to begin with.
YES you will FEEL a difference. More power, better topend, faster spool-up, the turbo for sure hist harder, better throttle modulation because of a now more responsive turbo. You will wonder why you hadn't done it sooner
Have a customer car that is still runing the stock licp. He pulled 365 ft lbs of torque, 356 hp. We just added the AMS licp. Butt dyno feels a small gain but only the real dyno will tell. It is a IX.
Well I am kind of upset.....didn't let my car warm up before going on dyno. Every run the A/F got better and the power went up as the car warmed up.
After 3 runs.....I got the same power....BUT my torque went up from 288 to 294.
Haven't compared the dyno graphs yet.

i just installed my ams licp and i feel a slight power up top and saw about 100-200rpm faster spool up, but i dont know ams says dyno proven 7-10hp and the average human body can feel 11hp i think, correct me if im wrong
