I had my wing replaced by the dealer after my warranty was expired. It should be covered by the body corrosion warranty, not the powertrain. My wing was replaced at 42K. There is no reason for them to deny you, they are well aware of the problem.

i just got my wing replaced at glendale mitsu last month
they were great. my car is an 03 and it has 24k miles. they said the car has a 5 year/60k power train warrantee and a 3 year bumper to bumper warrantee. they said the wing was under the bumper to bumper warrantee which was expired. but they recleared my wing anyway with no questions asked. took them 3 days and it came out perfect. i dont know why they did not do it for you

I think most people shouldnt be doing that kinda thing. Theyll end up ruining it and wasting their time. What he should do is go to the used section and buy a used one thats in nice condition. They are always for sale at a reasonable price.

I second this opinion if you are not comfortable doing it yourself. You could also try other dealers to see if they will offer a warranty exception on a known Mitsubishi problem.

Good Luck
