I swear to god you guys freak out and go scientific on the silly stuff. You want to know what I do? I go to autozone and buy the premixed 50/50 junk and throw it in my car.

Over 60k on the clock, gobs of power, and it's the stock longblock. PWNT!

That is a 33%/ 66% ratio, very close to what he is suggesting.

From Redline's tech sheet on water wetter:

"Even in summer time, the use of air-conditioning can blow freezing air through the heater core and cause freezing of the heater core unless approximately 20% antifreeze is used"

Like I said, I use 70/30 distilled water/Long life Prestone, and a bottle of water wetter.

Next we'll hear "what's the lightest paint color for a IX?!?" and/or "which shift knob will make the tranny grind the least?" threads..

Step 1: Drive to autozone/napa/murrays/sears/walmart/target
Step 2: Find automotive section in said store
Step 3: Search for 50-50 mixed coolant
Step 4: Place said coolant bottle into shopping cart
Step 5: Push cart to register and pay for coolant
Step 6: Go to car and open hood
Step 7: Drink the coolant

lol, overly unnecessary technical boo-hoo goin on here.

drain.
gallon of distilled,
proper amount of water wetter (its made for 16 qts (1 oz per qt), get 2 uses out of one bottle).
fill rest with straight anti-freeze.

when you're burping the system? use antifreeze.

done.

properly dispose of old coolant. (that doesnt mean dumping it out back. )

Not really it's simple stuff. You go ahead and keep using your 50/50 garbage. There is no reason to be using 50% anitfreeze.

I have over 63k on the clock and stock longblock, what are you trying to say?

It doesn't cool as well compared to using a higher percentage of water. For a street car, it's pretty irrelevant. If your car sees road course time though, it's important. Or, I guess if you live anywhere it gets over 100.

What I was trying to say was......stop sweating the little stuff, guess you missed it.

And making 310 to the wheels on the stock block and making 420 to the wheels on the stock block is a bit different as far as motor stress and heat produced.
