Stock mr oil temperature guage not working

So after I decided to change the stock guages around so I can have the boost guage from the right to the left, the oil temperature guage decides not to work. What might be the problem? it still lights up and stuff, just the needle don't move any more even if the car is warm.

you probrably have a loose connection. i'd take the gauge panel out again and check all the wiring connections. it happened to mine before, sometimes i could get it to work by tapping on the gauge, so i figured it was a connection and it was.

All of the positive and negative wires for all three of the gauges illumination and the voltage gauge run to two common wires. The only other wire is from the oil sender to the oil temp gauge. If the illumination wires for the temp gauge were backwards, the light bulb would still work just fine. The gauge however would not. Check the polarity of the common wires used to light the gauges.

Drive it hard, for a while, then look.

The guage starts at 50 deg C... usually on normal driving, it won't go above 90 deg C.

I thought mine was broken too, but it turns out it just takes a super long time to move, like what has been mentioned already in the thread
