HKS Exhaust

I know this has been discussed somewhere but I cannot find any threads.. But, a friend of mine just purchased 2 HKS Exhausts for an EVO VII right from Japan. He put one on his EVO VII, and still has the other available.. I can get it for a great price sooo... Exactly how short will the exhaust be from the VII to the VIII?? Anybody know? I know it's supposed to be just the difference in the rear bumper.. Any help would be appreciated..

I don't think it's a big difference. Around an inch or so I think.

Take some pics of it if you can. I plan on getting the HKS titanium muffler and doing custom piping.

Not a big difference John .... just plan on a little custom work to extend it .... a very small, maybe 1" so so pipe and an extra flange would probably do it. Great price aside .... I'd stronly consider the route that some of the forum guys are taking .... using either custom 3" piping for the mid section, or the mid section from RMR's catback paired with HKS Carbon TI muffler. Bet that be the ULTIMATE way to go if you like loud

Well, I had the Carbon TI on the WRX.. And it's really nice, but I am not lookin for that anymore... Somethin different.. Besides, he's almost giving it away to some of his closer friends... That's why I am so interested..
Jeff, how did you do at the show? And when you plan on coming down here to south Fl???

Not a difficult fix if one cannot wait -- just plan on a little custom work to extend it .... a very small, maybe 1" or so long & 3' diam stainless pipe and a couple compatable flanges would probably do it ... or just wait.

Hi POWER should run around 6 bills, while the carbon ti is a little more pricey.

darn

tried to post a pix but file was still too big . anyway the evo 7 hks hipower exhaust is about 1.5 inch shorter. My bumper turning yellow (can easily be removed using degreaser) is due to this and also the fact that my car is burning too rich. Might do a 2 inch extension soon.
