What mileage did stuff start breaking on your Evo?
I have begun to research some used Evolutions and am getting slightly nervous about the ones that have over 50,000 miles. I seem to have run across quite a few posts of people having things like transfer cases and transmissions needing replaced at 40,000 miles and above. Are these just isolated instances? What mileage did you have on your Evolution when you had major components fail, or started noticing smaller problems start piling up? I know part of this depends on the driver, but a fair amount of used Evolutions will have a similar type of driver and usage, so it still seems valid to me. Thank you for your help.
I got the first EVO sold in the US and the first batch was horrible. Bad tranys bad clutches. After I had those replaced around 32k miles the thing was a dream. took it from 32000-54000 with 0 problems. That was an 03. traded in on an 06 MR, modded and have had nothing but head rushes and problems ever since! Id say take it out and test it. any slip in the clutch or slight shake in the trany. PASS. If everything feels smooth and fluid, pick it up.
