I'm sure you realize you aren't the first Evo owner ever, right? Can you imagine the fact that others may have asked these questions before? Can you also imagine that maybe there are rules on this forum that you should read before posting? Lastly, did you not see the newbie forum up top? Please take a peek...
Question... would newbie mean how long i been a member? or how many post i have? because i check this site alot... But i have always had a honda. but today that changed.. so yeah...
damn, you guys are brutal.. haha
i think you just shouldnt boost for like the first 500 miles then just take it easy until the first 1k then it should be 100 percent ready to do watever the hell you want with it. i know your excited, i was the same way lol

Did you guys ever stop to think that the motor is broken in at the factory? Even though your odometer may read "0" the engine has "miles" on it. I'm sure the engineers kept in mind that everyone is not going to break the engine in "properly", such as seating the rings and all that. Therefore it is factory done , because they dont want to be covering any warranty claims due to an improper break in.

Uh...no. Please read the newbie forum. If you got your car (congrats) with 4 miles on it (as did I) you should have gotten a pamphlet answering ALL the questions you're about to ask. You don't have to stay out of boost, its the RPMs that you should monitor, I believe its don't go above 5k for 500 miles if my memory serves me correctly
The most common mods to begin are: boost gauge, mbc, TBE, and tune....Another question that has been answered countless times. Just helping you out.

It's really not THAT big of a deal....like someone said, most of the break in is precautionary due to the improved methods of assembly of today. It has been "proven" that oil consumption is based on break-in. There is also a "high rev" method of break in that some people use...ill find the link
