Helix HFC and still check engine
Helix HFC and still check engine
Ugh, just wanted to vent. Had the TBE put on Saturday, and instead of a TP ran a Helix HFC. Was fine Saturday, did not drive Sunday, and took it to work this way and 2 miles out the door...service engine light...GRRR.
Well, guess I will go with the spark plug fouler remedy. I assume that is what is recommended? And I am running a boost gauge but no MBC but I rarely floor my car so not really worried about over boosting. Pulled the code...it says insufficient catalytic converter.

well i got the cat from a member, he said it was all good, no issues. Should i try resetting the ECU? in regards to that, I have a question. Now with my previous truck, the method of resetting the ECU was pulling a certain fuse, and turning it on till 3 chirps.
how do you reset the ecu on the evo?

Try disconnecting the battery first for a few minutes then put ut back and turn car on see if that helps. If not u can tk it to pep boys or local shop they pull the code for u for free and can tk it out also
don't just try to reset the ECU. That's covering the problem, not fixing it. Read the code and post it on the forum. Like they said a HFC will bring you a code error, but if its another error you'll never know whats happening to your precious engine. Good luck.
I had my check engine light come on once in awhile after the UR test pipe. I did what you did and it kept coming back. Found out that I was running lean. Added a fuel pump and did a custom tune, never seen it come back at all. Good luck bro!

well, i think there is an autozone two miles from where I work so I am gonna stop there on the way home and see if they can check it out. Also gonna call the place that put the exhaust on and ask him about it...since I have to get some longer bolts anyways when i go back to him to put those thingys back on lol
is it all autozones that check codes? and will the fouler definitely work or am i better going with a O2 eliminator? Just asking before making any decisions.

I run a test pipe, and no defoulers. I also don't run the cel fix or anything to trick the O2 sensor at all. For some reason I just don't seem to throw a code? I still have it plugged in too!
i have a testpipe w/ a bung welded for the o2 sensor and no CEL for that. I just recently started getting a CEL for the front sensor heater circuit, whats strange is after re-connecting battery it stays off for about 500 miles than the CEL pops up again.
I would pull the code first to make sure its the rear o2 sensor and get the fouler if it is.

O2 eliminator is a waste of money imo
