"Don't BUY!! Get the STi by Cheated!
Style: 4dr Sport Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)"

Review: "When I purchased my EVO it was a great day! But soon problems followed. I have had it in the shop 6 times and i know of other who have. I got the opportunity to drive the STi.. Much faster, better handling with its adjustable Differentials, BETTER QUALITY! If you don't like replacing head gaskets don't buy EVO!"

Anybody from here?

STI's suck. They're only faster in flat out acceleration. The Evolution is an all around better car.

Sounds like a WRX fanatic making a statement. STIs are having detonation problems so good luck squeezing more power reliably.Handles better going to work maybe. Who buys these cars for freeway performance. Both cars will have some relability issues because they will not be your typical grocery getter.EVOs clutch is the worst thing about my EVO. I will be taking it in ASAP to get that slipping beep beep fixed.

I think the STi pinging issue is going to me remedied soon. It's obviously a bad algorithym in the ECU. My car pings rarely, but when it does it is always in the same exact rpm and only 1 or two pings then the ecu corrects it. Rumor is they already have an ECU reflash to resolve this issue. Looks like the ECU was advancing timing too aggressively at that rpm range.

Who cares? The Edmund's "owner" reviews regardless of auto make are useless. The unsubstantiated comments are made by anonymous posters; what a waste of bandwidth.

Detonation is bad and to many STI owners are blowing it off as a minor ECU problem. I would pass on as STI until the ping issue is resolved.

Wink

I have my STi broke in, and have not witnessed any detonation. I wanted an EVO, but no one locally would sell for a decent price. Got the STi and am happy so far.
