Question Do you let people borrow your Evo?

Just wondering where other Evo owners stand on this. I would NEVER let ANYONE other than my wife or my father drive my Evo without me sitting in the passenger seat. My Dad because he's awesome and my wife because i have to... besides that i'm happy to let a few close friends behind the wheel but I will be in the car with them and I expect them to return the favor

When i bought my first car (An '88 porsche944) my Dad told me: "Son, your car is like your girlfriend... you just don't people borrow her."

Without a doubt NO. My wife wants to learn how to drive stick and i tried on my old WRX(which deserved the beating ). But thats where i draw the line. Just me and even I barely drive it.

yeah... I've probably let 2 or 3 people borrow it... standard rule is they must own a more expensive car and have money to fix anything broken... being one of my better friends and knowing how they treat their cars is key.

Exactly!

I don't let friends drive my car even if I ride shotgun. That would be like watching.

I say your Dad is 100% right. No one has ever been in my driver seat let alone drive my car with me in it or not. I dont think there will be anyone driving my car. OK maybe I am a little wrong. There has been one other person driving my car kind of. When I go dyno that is the only time someone has been in my seat

I'm with you on this one.. Close close friends could drive it.. but I would be hell bent if anyone would take it without me... there will always be exceptions.. but they will be rare and few and far between

exactly. is that even a question? you'd have to be the biggest push over to let anyone borrow your Evo.

I guess this is probably the best incentive. The friends i've let drive my evo (with me in the car however) i would expect to let me drive their cars as well. One day when they all have vettes and ferraris your generosity may pay off you know?

I let my GF drive it every once in a while.
A Becaus she knows how to drive Stick already
B Because her job is closer then mine so I put miles on her car not mine.
-Plus she knows to park in the back of the lot next to a curb so no one can ding or scratch it!

I learned this the hard way two days ago. I let a buddy who drives stick very well drive my car. He was running it very hard, i told him to relax, and he didn't completely, and boom. Blown head gasket/water pump from the meth i am running. And guess who is paying for it? Good friend, i know. =(

Nope, no one gets to borrow the Evo. If they really need a car, I have a couple others that I'm willing to lend.
