Weird noise with AC on...
It sounds like its coming from the transmission and its only when my foot is off the clutch. As soon as i push in the clutch the noise goes away. Im guessing its the TOB. Ive got a slight noise with the AC off and yet again goes away with the clutch pushed in.
Also, it runs really rough at idle with the AC on. It even sounds like its misfiring. I know it seems weird, but im gonna do some logs at idle with the AC on to see if it'll show anything.
EDIT: The sounds is only at idle

It's not that big of a deal. Turn the radio on and roll up the windows. Fir the first 6 months I had this car, I spent more time with my head out the window going "what that noise? did you hear that? Is something wrong?" Just for get it and enjoy it.
Incorrect. Brand new Evos have a rattle from the throwout bearing when the clutch is released. There is additional noise when the AC is on that sounds a little like a rattle and whine, but that's just the compressor. The throwout bearing noise happens AC on or off. If you doubt, do a search for "clutch noise" on this forum, and you will come up with a zillion threads with the OP saying "there is a noise from the tranny" and 20 replies saying "it's normal."

ummm...how can I put this nicely. NO.. The throw out bearing is known to make noise, however that doesnt make it right or normal by any means. Having noise from a throwout bearing means either the bearing wasnt properly installed, or it is on its way out. There should be no noise whatso ever from a Tob. Sorry if i was harsh, i just dont want this guy thinking haveing tob noise is alright. Sooner or later your trans/ and or clutch will go if your tob is making noise. Its just the nature of the beast. sorry to burst your buble.

. Guess these cars really werent meant to have AC.
