Angry so here's a new one for ya guys...

on friday, i went home (to ohio) for the weekend and left the Evo here in NC (drove the STi) and when i get in my car this morning, there a friggin' FIRE ANTS everywhere . they were/are coming out om my ashtray and e-brake boot. My question for ya is, what could i use to get rid of these bastards? Raid, or something of the sort, obviously comes to mind but i dont want to risk ruining any part of the interior or whatever....any ideas

Raid spray will only kill surface ants. You need those ant motels to get them all.

Step one: move the evo.
Step two: spray ant barrier around your tires.
Step three: wait for the ants to die.
Step four: vacuum up dead ants.
Step five: detail the evo.

DONE!

I would make an insurance claim just because they are fire ants. That **** hurts.

Have a bug specialist take care of all the bugs, then bring it to a detail shop for a mega-overkill interior detail, then to mitsu for a massive check up to see if they were chewing on anything in the car. If fire ants even do that, I wouldn't know

I would put ant hotels/traps around the bottom of the car, OUTSIDE it, you know? To attract them all away from the interior.. otherwise, if you gas them all inside the car you'll be finding dead ants all over the damn place for who knows how long.

Wow! That would totally blow! I get them in the house all the time, but none in either car... I use a white powdery dust to kill 'um. It only takes about 10/15 minutes for them to die, then I vac it up. Not sure how it'd do on leather/plastics/etc though... But definitely start by putting some around the tires. It'a like $9 @ Walmart.
