The surface of the cylinders and all other engine parts are going to have surface rust from condensation, so you should change your oil, start it, then change your oil again.(along with filter). Other then that and new gas you should be good. Probably going to need to wax it.

I'm curious to what you'll find living in it and how much of a fight it will put up.

I would do a full check of the brake lines, fuel lines, and electrical. Basically anything under the car that is exposed is very likely to have been nibbled on by animals.

While on an extended climbing trip in Alaska a few years back, a critter did major damage to undervehicle components on a friends car at the trailhead. My friend was none too happy upon his return to his vehicle to see lots of strange fluids pooled up in the dirt under the car. His wish is that the exotic fluids and lines made the offending animal quite ill.

Good luck. Hope the Evo isn't too jacked up.

They cyl should be fine. I restored an MGB that sat for 20 years. If there was oil in the engine (as my dad put in before he let it sit) you'll be ok. That being said, you should change the oil/vital fluids.

this is like some form of crazy experiment that nobody really wants to do... but now we'll know the results.

thanks a lot for the input guys . some of you say it's gonna be pretty jacked up, and some of you say it isn't gonna be that bad... i guess i'll find out when i pick it up. i'm definitely going to change out all my liquids and get a new battery.
it's gonna be about a 2 month wait if you guys really wanna see pics. i'm not picking it up till about early december.
and to answer your question, yellowEVO21, i'm in the military right now stationed around anchorage. i'm originally from cali. i've been deployed for about 12 months now; that's why my evo is in storage.

are you stationed at fort rich or elmendorf? i was at elmendorf for a while.
hopefully your car made thru ok but the winters can be brutal. i dont think you'll have to worry about bugs and stuff but definitely get the fluids changed and a new battery. good luck
