Any body read the new Import Tuner?

They put hks's new 272's on an o6 evo, the results were horrible in my opinion. I was actually thinking about getting these cams but for $699 i don't think there worth 10 hp and 20 pounds of torque. Are the hks cams just not the ones to go with or are all the different cam companies going to be around the same gains? Iv'e heard good things about the cosworth and the s1's. Which cam's should i choose

$699 is MSRP.. not street price.

But regardless, HKS product is high quality, especially their cams. FWIW, 10hp/20ft tq gain is pretty good for EVO IX's mivec head considering the stock mivec cam is already very sufficient.

Cams on the IX has been discussed just recently, the gains are not that high because the MIVEC stock cams are pretty good. I was thinking of going with cams but it does not make too much sense on my IX. From earlier discussions in this forum you will not see a decent gain until you want to go with a turbo upgrade

They just put the cams in, They did NO tuning. They will make alot more power when they tune it.

There was a thread not too long ago on the Cosworth cams and a lot of folks were having idling issues with them.HKS stuff is good quality though.Im sure they will make more HP and TQ with the right setup.Or you can go with the Greddy Cams. There pretty reasonable on the price and power gains seem to be moderate.

What do the Cosi and the GSCs make on the IX without a tune? I would like to know what HKS cams make with a tune.

Does it make a bigger difference for the VIII as opposed to the IX?

that was installed with NO TUNE! on a STOCK CAR! Hopefully I would gain more with a tune on my car that already has a few bolt ons.

idling issues are due to the tuner... the idle should be smooth as silk.
