So lately i have been having problems wit the cops with my AMS 3" catdeleted exhausted being to loud in my honest opinion though it dun sound anywhere near what the hillbilly trucks that drive around here sound like. but i was curious what i could do to just make the car quieter while DD'ing around going to work and back cause thats when i seem to have the most problems. that and fri/sat nights at like 1am i stick out like a sore thumb - bigwing, tintedwindows, loudexhaust... pull me over

 

Add a cat, a resonator and a silencer

 

u could always put the cat back in....that will queit it up some....but in my opinion id leave the exhaust lol the louder the better....my 98 cobra has slp loud mouthmufflers and is the loudest thing ive ever herd...and my evo is getting the ams 3'' exhaust...id leave it lol....dont feel bad about sticking out at night my 98 cobra is orange and is supercharged...talk about standing out lol

what would my mustang being an american car have anyting to do with it....cops have a feast with that thing...absolutley everything is illegal from ground up lol....but to me they do bother me more in my evo then my mustang

 

im not looking to bolt my cat up and take it off 3 times a week, im lookin to just put something into the muffler or pipe that will kill the sound off when i need it to.

 

lol, i was always under the impression that cops hate imports way more than american muscle

 

what about a diff muffler?....i no megan makes a muffler that has a silencer insert that bolts in and out...idk if would want somthing like that but just and idea

 

umm yea in a sense i can see that but they hate anything thats loud lol...but the mustang gets a lil more leeway i have noticed...but they still get me for anything they can lol

 

again the ams catback costs 600 alone so if i cut the muffler off its like me giving ams 600 bucks for a bent peice of pipe

 

Resonated Test Pipe (WORKS) + Tanabe Medallion catback = much quieter car!

 

1) Insert a 12" resonator within your test pipe. See the following link for an example. http://stores.channeladvisor.com/ver...itemid=3038541

2) If It is still too loud, add another resonator (18"") within your B-pipe.


3) If is still too loud , buy a HFC and sell your test pipe with the resonator.

 

ams does make a silencer slip in for the exhaust i found on there site imma give it a try
