O2 housing install now oil leak!?!?!

As the title states, I just finished installing a SS o2 housing, I go for a test drive and before leaving the neighborhood I boosted just a little and then saw lots of smoke coming from under the hood. When I opened the hood I see that there is oil under the turbo, dont know where it could be coming from, but it looks like the turbo is dry, maybe the return line? Help

well you know how a body can reject a kidney...your turbo rejected the o2 housing

on a more serious note

did you have pb blaster or wd 40 on all the bolts and stuff?

that would cause a lot of smoke as it was being burnt off

just let the car idle for 10-15 minutes and check from up top and underneath

How did you install the O2 housing? When I did it, I left the turbo on and didn't connect any line beside the O2 sensor.

If you took your turbo out to install the O2 housing, then you might want to check the oil lines to see if they're bolt in.

You don't need to remove the complete turbo to install the o2 housing...just the hotside.

Oh no, the pb blaster smoke was fine, this was like all the sudden a tremendous amount of smoke, after taking it apart almost all the way im pretty sure that I busted the oil return line when I was trying to get the mani back on , I think that I inserted a pry bar behind the turbo to push it closer to the radiator. The oil leak is very small, can't tell at idle, but when you get on it a little you see a mist type spray almost of oil that shoots out towards the radiator.

It's very likely the oil return line. If it was the feed line the oil probably would have caught fire.

I'm about to install mine on a turbo I luckily have sitting in my garage so I won't have to worry about being on my back under the car.

Well I hadn't even left the neighborhood, and hadn't boosted but for a little blip, It started smoking and I shut it off and saw a bit of oil, but when we got it home and jacked it up, it doesnt leak anything at idle, but when you give it some gas, you can see the oil kind of spray out

So you busted the oil line when you're installing the O2 elbow?

Well the dealer is going to charge you an arm and leg for sure. What you can do is post a "WTB - wanting to buy" add in the forsale section. There's plenty of people who upgrade their turbo and they might have one laying around.

Another option is try contacting AMS, Buschur to see if they one laying around. I pretty sure they will since they upgraded so many turbos.

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/ might have it at a decent price as well.

Good luck bro.
